Fantastic post, Michael. I've been experiencing the same - the most fun I've had since I was in the digital agencies in the mid 1990s. I've been enjoying building again. You are spot on re: taste. Everyone is now smart (LLMs) and many people , if motivated, can build and design, but not everyone is born (or acquire) taste.
On another note, I think there's a whole cottage industry building, about to boom - well beyond cottage, to harden and secure everyones software that's being built. Just because Claude builds it, doesn't mean it's secure... and software, especially linked to APIs and all, needs to be maintained. So much opportunity there.
