In June, I cut out coffee. Here are some of my observations:
- I didn’t get headaches but I was grumpy in the first couple of days. This went away after the third day. But the first week was pretty rough as I was going through caffeine withdrawals.
- I slept better. Much better. The deep REM sleep, instead of the “wake up at 3 am and not fall back asleep” type of sleep.
- I drank more water. There were days where I would drink more coffee than water.
- My energy levels were higher and sustained throughout the day.
I originally started this experiment to increase my energy levels, which was successful. I miss my iced coffees but I decided to maintain this new habit into July.
This month, I’m focused on meditating every day for at least 15 minutes. I’ll be using the Headspace app. Will report back result next month.
